I know what’s on your mind, there will be time for that, too

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010Hello! This is a random video with clips from March. There was still snow in my parents’ front yard, I walked around sunny, icy Copenhagen, had dinner at Von Fressen and got a pair of Rag & Bone boots, which I will show off some day. The music is Between Mysteries by Mount Eerie, whom I saw the other night. It was a full band show (No Kids, pretty much, double drummer action) and they played Wind’s Poem in its entirety and it was awesome and amazing. Even more amazing was that they played The Moon by The Microphones. It moved something really hardcore inside of me and I felt a shift in my recent imbalance. It left me confused and upset for a while, but eased into some kind of peace that I’ve longed for after a very chaotic month. Yeah, so. If you haven’t listened to Wind’s Poem, please do. It is my favourite Mount Eerie album for sure.
PS. How crazy is all this volcano action!
Sad news
Saturday, March 27th, 2010Dear blog and the readers of it.
I am a bringer of bad news today.
You see, my Macbook Pro with all my photos from the past 5 years and my trusted digital SLR through even longer has been stolen right out of my home. To say I am devastated is an understatement. As I am an idiot with no insurance and no backups, I am unsure when I will be able to resume a regular blogging schedule since I will have to rely on my friends and work for any Internet time. I have no idea how I am going to fund new equipment at the moment, so it could be a while. I hope you will stick around, or keep an eye out for updates anyway!
I hate to be a beggar, but if you wanted to help an idiot out, just a little bit, I have a donate button (through PayPal) in the sidebar. I’m embarrassed to even ask, but I am so lost at the moment I will give anything a try. This will purely go towards funding a new camera and computer.
To make up for that bit, here is a really nice song.
Happy weekend to you.
Sincerely,
Young
What I’ve enjoyed listening to lately
Saturday, February 20th, 2010New Liars! I didn’t enjoy their last album so much (loved the first three), but from this and what I’ve read about the new album it could be quite interesting. Plus, this video is BEAUTIFUL while at the same time being silly and very Liars. Sisterworld is out March 8th!
I’ve had the new Ruby Suns album for a few months (thanks to work) and I fall more in love with it every time I listen to it. It’s brilliant! This one is different, more dreamy and even more electronic than Sea Lion (which was, again, different from the debut). I love seeing bands evolve like this! Fight Softly is out!
I couldn’t decide which song to pick from the new Yeasayer album, Odd Blood, so here is the second single. I know a lot of people think the album is only so good, but I’m really loving it and I can’t wait for the show in a couple of weeks!
New Charlotte Gainsbourg in collaboration with Beck. Yes, it’s quite brilliant!
The Decemberists’ contribution to Dark Was the Night. I remember the first time I heard it, I was at work and when I noticed the song I immediately wanted to just sit down and hug myself. It makes my chest burn!
Put on your dancing shoes – it’s the new Caribou single! Swim is out in April where, in the last weekend, Pop Revo is on (yup, dude is playing one of the loveliest festivals in Denmark)!
What have YOU been listening to lately?
Hey man, what’s your problem? Don’t you know that I don’t belong to you
Saturday, January 16th, 2010It’s Saturday. I should be in Belgium by now and tonight I’ll be seeing Panda Bear!
