march

Can you believe March is almost over? I finally got my new dresses from Vivetta and Family Affairs. The sale-bug really bit me all the way back in January!

I also took advantage of Escho’s sale and got some new vinyl.

And I’ve been baking! And eating avocado again! I think I managed to forget how they tasted, as I’ve not had any pretty much all winter.

I’m getting pretty good at separating the yolks from the white!

I baked that! For a photography project my friend Tore had to do.
How awesome is it that Spring seems to really have hit?! I think I can pack away my winter boots, finally!

And when you get the cash that only shows you how to sin, like when you gettin’ fast money and you blow it in the wind

friggin' friday

friggin' friday

Hard times, man. But it’s still Friday and hopefully the weekend will bring good things!

HEY MAN HEY HEY HEY MAN HEY MAN HEY HEY HEY MAN I WANNA HAVE A FIGHT WITH YOU

Monday, February 8th, 2010

I’m suffering from Monday aggression today, I think, but I wanted to let you know I was featured on Brinja’s blog yesterday! Every weekend she does a ‘What I wore this week’ post, featuring herself, her friends or other bloggers. I was quite honoured to be asked!
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday feature my new mohair dresses and blouse from Babbu, which I love!

Why does it always have to end with humiliation for me?

snow

snow

Welcome to a (long) random Sunday post. First of all, this is what it looks like outside at the moment. I think I missed the memo that said Denmark had become a part of the arctic circle. It’s freezing!

birthday dinner

My flatmate turned 32 this week. We had lamb in herb sauce with asparagus and red cabbage & sprout salad for dinner and chocolate cake for dessert. I gave him 20th Century Masterpieces EMI wrapped slightly girly.

vinyls

I’ve been playing these records a lot. They are Black Wooden Ceiling Opening 10″ by Mount Eerie, Ethiojazz by Mulatu Astatke, Vs. by Mission of Burma (2×180g re-issue) and Sapphie by Richard Youngs. Also on (very) heavy rotation is A Society in Which No Tear is Shed is Mediocre by Yonlu, which I cannot recommend enough (consider this my biggest hype since that time I went on a tiny rant about Dead Man’s Bones (which I know a bunch of you enjoyed). Imagine a cocktail of Elliott Smith mixed with the Life Aquatic Soundtrack topped with bedroom freakshow lo-fi and you’ve got this album. It’s incredibly intense, especially considering its history – recorded by a 16-year-old Brazilian kid before he committed suicide, released on David Byrne’s label, Luaka Bop, and cover illustrated by my favourite graphic novelist, Paul Hornschemeier. Honestly, I knew I was going to like this album before I even heard it and I hope you will give it a listen! It’s one of my favourite albums from 2009).

While this is sort of a break from Belgium photos, here are some things I bought when I was there. Some comics and a new bag! It’s See by Chloé and quite lovely if you ask me.

Lastly, I got these tights as a gift last night and I love them but I will post more about them later.
It’s the last day of January, just the coldest month of the year to go and hopefully Spring will come!

So far this week I’ve worn clothes, seen Avatar in 3D, picked my friend up from the airport and received a maneki neko. I also got a package from Allison! Tomorrow I’m seeing The XX and Saturday morning I’m leaving for Belgium! I’ll be staying there until Tuesday hanging out in Leuven, Antwerpen and Brussels. If you have any tips for any of these cities, please let me know!
