I find it kind of fascinating, though. This is the first wisdom tooth I had pulled out about two weeks ago. I am usually not afraid of going to the dentist, I used to really like it, actually. I loved my dentist as a kid, she taught me to take good care of my teeth (I have no cavities) and basically it was just nice to go there. I also had braces, so I had to go to the dentist very often for many years.
Anyway, everyone has always told me how much it hurts to get your wisdom teeth removed, and somehow this had scared me into having a panic attack, sitting in the chair with my awesome dentist trying to calm me down. Alas, it took about 20 seconds before he had pulled it out, and the pain afterwards was absolutely minimal. So even if I do have to get one operated out at one point, I will do my best not to be afraid and I will tell anyone I meet that it does not hurt and not to be scared of it.
