Accidents happen sometimes. It can be a bit annoying and distressing, like when you open the back of your camera to take the finished film out, except you had forgotten to rewind the film, so the last part was exposed to direct light. This happened after a little field trip to Kronborg during Easter. I guess I can always go back, though, and I do kind of like the light leak in the second last picture.

On the subject of accidents, there is no news on my computer or camera from the police, but I am saving up hardcore so hopefully in a month or two I will be up to speed again. I’d like to thank all of you who donated, whatever the amount, a million times from the bottom of my heart! I am completely overwhelmed by your kindness and I will find a way to give back.

Until then I hope you will all bear with me, I’m trying to keep up with posts and comments (should be up to date with them now mostly) but I don’t have enough internet time to respond to all of them at the same time. A special thanks to everyone who left comments about books and veg*ism – I really appreciate your input!

Now – happy weekend!

easter dinner

easter dinner

I spent Easter with my family. We had lamb for dinner (and it was delicious).
At the moment I am reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer, and while it has not yet convinced me to completely stop eating meat (I don’t eat much of it to begin with), it’s definitely reminding me to slack off even less when it comes to food, meat or not. Are any of you veg*s and would you like to share with me why? Or are you reading any good books at the moment that you can recommend? Being without computer has left me with a lot of time to read when I’m at home (I’m not very good at turning it off once it’s on)!

raspberry pieces

raspberry pie

The recipe for the ‘hindbærsnitter’ in the first picture has been passed down at least a couple of generations on my mother’s side of the family, I’m not sure how many. They have a soft and sticky sort of cookie bottom layer, raspberry jam in the middle and merengue on top. Pretty friggin’ sweet, I swear, I cannot eat just one piece. I usually end up eating five or more, they are that good.
The second picture is a raspberry and marzipan pie. Sometimes I don’t even want to eat the things I bake, but I like the look on other people’s faces when I give it to them to eat. It’s a strange and awesome satisfaction just baking and then seeing someone else enjoying the final product.
On a completely different note, there is a lot of change coming up for me in the next handful of months. Some very exciting and some a bit nervewracking. This was a lot of text.
