And I only bought three pairs of shoes! Chloé Silverados, Rag & Bone heeled combat boots and Miu Miu plateau sandals (top right corner)! Kind of proud of myself for that.

I also had my Macbook Pro and digital SLR stolen, and you guys were all so awesome and supportive and I’m really thankful for that! I got a new computer with the funds I had available, and pretty much decided to drop digital photography and go 100% analogue (I guess because I couldn’t afford a new digital SLR). So I got two new analogue family members, a Lomo LC-A which I bought at a flea market for a couple of dollars and a Zenit-E recently, both of which I’m already really enjoying using. It’s also meant fewer updates, but I’m finding it quite nice – feels like less pressure somehow.

Thank you for looking throughout the year, and I hope you’ll stay with me!
Stay safe out there and happy New Year!

Le Pain Quotidien, brussels, belgium

I started the year with a trip to Belgium, where, apparently, the national soup is tomato soup with meat balls and the buildings are almost beyond epic. My friend Mikkel and I saw Panda Bear in Leuven, ate Ethiopian food and stopped by Antwerpen and Brussels as well.

Sounds like 2010

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Some of my favourite records this year were Scout Niblett – The Calcination of Scout Niblett, produced by Steve Albini. It’s dry and soft and aggressive and fragile at the same time – A+. Also one of the best shows I attended this year.

John Grant – Queen of Denmark, front man from The Czars accompanied by Midlake. His voice kills me, I don’t know what else to say. Another great show this year!

Black Keys – Brothers. I didn’t think I’d like them after listening to Attack & Release, but then there was Blakroc and now this – which is awesome.

Joanna Newsom – Have One On Me. I know it’s long, and I’ve only listened to it in its entirety a handful of times, but I always return to it in its different parts and I love it more each time.

Caribou – Swim. What up, best for dancing. Also, AMAZING live!

Some of my favourite songs were Damien Jurado – Arkansas

Gigi – The Marquee

Sleepy Sun – Marina

Karen Elson – The Ghost Who Walks

Health – Usa Boys

Willow Smith – Whip My Hair

Extremely honorable mentions: Robyn and Lady Gaga, who made everything every day tolerable.

Edit: I forgot Australian Winter by Sun Kil Moon

school ending

For school I had to make a book and a photo album before Christmas to show. Before the book was put together it looked a bit like this.

school ending

A week later like this.

school ending

I made a mustached antler lady in Photoshop and screen printed it on one of the covers and the backs were letter pressed. The books were sewn and the photo album screwed together. It was fun!
I’ll be back soon with other stuff I did during December and some 2010 posts as soon as I fix my Flickr Pro account.
Hope you all had some lovely holiday time!

By the way, are any of you using Instagram for iPhone? I’m halfgirl there and really loving it!
